CC Sabathia52.com and PittCChInFoundation.org launch to Critical Success!

It was a big day at Walk Design when we launched the all new websites for CC Sabathia of the New York Yankees. The launch signaled a new age for us with a stronger emphasis on multi-channel communications. We are now utilizing social media and internal communications to speak to the fans wherever the fans want to be.

It’s also the first site to use our dual brand platform where we show the player and the player charities to solve the age old issue of which site do you put your emphasis on. How do you introduce the fan to the charity and the the charity user to the player?

So far the feedback has been outstanding! We have been called and told that high ranking people in the sports industry think it is the best athlete site on the web, which is really a great compliment and was our goal all along.

We have launched a website, an all new iPhone app, custom Twitter page, custom YouTube page and coming soon we shall launch a custom Facebook page and an iPad application. Take a look, follow us, “like” us, tell us what you think!

MillonLacrosse.com relaunches

Welcome to the number one lacrosse camp website in the world. Working hand in hand with Mark Millon himself, we have built a custom website to fit the needs of the camp to allow for greater emphasis on video instruction as well as more interaction with the campers and future campers.

Mark Millon is one of the greatest lacrosse players in the history of the sport and he wanted a site to reflect the quality and energy he brought to the sport as a player and as a camp instructor. With the new video features as well as a the custom Twitter and Facebook presence, Mark is going to be able to teach each player directly with all of the tips and tricks he has developed over his distinguished career.

We have taken a huge step forward in the type of sites we are going to offer at Walk Design. The Millon Lacrosse Camps site is the first of many sites where we have developed a fully custom back end content management system as well as the latest social network integration like Facebook connect. We are aggressively bringing the latest third party innovations to our sites to increase their reach and establish a strong social network brand experience.

Keep watching we have a lot more coming soon!

Barry Zito Salutes Our War Heroes

What a great day yesterday was. Going to Scottsdale to be a part of Strikeouts for Troops annual spring training ceremony was something I wanted to be apart of for years but always had to settle for just posting the photos and admiring the brave souls that finaly get some well deserved recognition from afar. This year however I finally made some time to attend and it was worth every minute of it. Getting to see the troops up front and personal and hear their stories really was amazing. Also seeing Barry Zito, Jake Peavy and Matt Cain spend time with them and give them the proper amount of respect was outstanding as well. Each player seemed more impressed with the troops then the troops were with them.

Having worked with Barry on this charity for so long I always thought it was great to see how much time and resources he devotes to making sure they can pick up the check for so many of these soldiers who can’t pay for their medical expenses. But being there in person when there were no cameras rolling and seeing them hang out with each soldier and talk about their experiences in war was truly gratifying to see that this charity is not just another tax write off. It really comes from a great place and it is an honor to be involved with it.

Millon Lacrosse Camps Chooses Walk Design

We are very excited to welcome Millon Lacrosse Camps into the Walk design family as they have decided to select us as their new digital media partner. The project will consist of us creating a brand new marketing and online approach for the camp as they strive to continue their position as the #1 lacrosse camp in the world.

The new site is really going to take advantage of the latest social media platforms to reach their target audience of campers as well as their parents. Also their will be a strong emphasis on implementing some other third party applications that will make the brand more engaging and increase the camp experience. Keep your eye peeled for updates as we move towards the camps busy upcoming season!

ESPN Tournament Challenge Logo on TV

The ESPN Tournament Challenge commercial just hit the airways. It’s always nice to see your work on TV or in a store no matter how many times it happens. The big redesign of the game was last year, but this year will mark our first iPhone application with this product which will launch when they announce the teams in the tournament.

Orlando Hudson website relaunched!

With Orlando Hudsons free agent signing with the Minnesota Twins for the 2010 season came an immediate need to change his website over from his previous Los Angeles Dodgers look and feel. This has been the third or forth time that we had a player that has switched teams and has needed a very quick site redesign to capitalize on the energy and passion of his new fan base.

What makes it really challenging is the player never knows about the change until the last minute whether it is a trade or an off season free agent move. You might have some idea of where they may go, but if you try and guess so you will be prepared it always seems like they never end up with the team you prepared for (as a matter of fact I have yet to guess right). The other big issue is that it just won’t feel right to switch the player site over to the new team colors and use photos from the previous team, so you really have to act quickly to comp up a photo and make it look like they are wearing the new team uniform.

Major League Strength Launches Their New Brand!

Walk Design proudly launches Major League Strength brand new website and brand! After a long and focused approach, Major League Strength and we here at Walk Design recreated an entire new direction for the company as it positions itself to be a leader in the strength and conditioning industry. Roy Oswalt’s Brand New Website Launches

For the first time, Roy Oswalt of the Houston Astros has a website to call his very own. After a good deal of collaboration with Roy himself, we were able to launch Roy’s site with a full compliment of features that will let Roy connect to his fans better. The site utilizes Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and a full shopping section with custom apparel to make it the only place for Roy’s fans to truly keep intouch with their favorite star.
